A. The answer to this question starts at an earlier point. That is, why have a website or why have a good design to a website. As the means of communications have progressed from smoke signals to print to television and now to the Internet, each medium has allowed creativity and also encouraged creativity to make your message unique and compelling.

Q: How much does the video production cost?
A. CU-VO has been developed to be “affordable” to credit unions of all sizes. Packages have been created that can be purchased “off the shelf” for as low as $328 per year. In addition, CU-VO has arranged relationships with certified videographers around the nation that have agreed to roll their production costs into the package prices that are published on the “Prices” or “Order” page. The cost is significantly less than the cost of a statement stuffer you may send to your members. By the way, remember statement stuffers go to your existing members, not those you desire to become members.

However, the really important issue is “What is the return on the investment for the credit union?”
When you partner with CU-VO, our goal is to help you get a high quality production at a price that is appropriate and more importantly generates a return for its expense. The first step in figuring out "how much?" will be to contact us and to provide more information about your project.

Q: How can you offer some packages at such a low cost?
A. Since credit unions are cooperatives, there is a built in “power of purchasing”. We have developed a series of packages that can be purchased “off the shelf.” The TIPs package is a series of short CU-VO’s that may be used by any credit union. The development cost is amortized over a large number of users.

Q: What is the advantage of TIPs?
A. The TIPs package is designed as an attention getter and to add variety to your website in an extremely economical fashion. First, a casual glance at credit union websites will show warnings about scams of all types. The warnings are good policy. The problem arises when members do not even see them on the website (Technically a type of “selective perception”). A CU-VO TIP occurring occasionally and randomly will be the new element that causes the member to consider those warnings and other messages.

Q: What is the advantage of the Holiday Packages?
A. The Holiday packages are designed as an attention getter for the casual visitor to your website. The web surfer is expecting a message “selling them something” and instead sees a community service message. Well done holiday messages will result in visitors staying on your website long enough to see who you are.

Q: How long does it take to get CU-VO?
A. Normal turnaround time for the custom CU-VO is 7-10 days, once the script is received or written. If we are writing the script for you, an additional 3-5 days are needed. The Tips and Holiday packages can be running on your site the next business day. Special projects that require custom messages and fast turnaround can be accomplished with additional consideration.

HOW
Q: What do I have to do to my website to add CU-VO?
A. No changes to your website are needed. CU-VO overlays your existing page and disappears when done. The process is simple. Just tell us the page where you want CU-VO to play. We provide a short piece of code to be inserted into the html of that page (similar to Google Analytics). By the way, we did test a demo of CU-VO on all 5,732 credit union websites. In the cases where the demo either failed or was covered up, we found other types of “crawlers”, “pop-ups”, and other attention grabbing techniques that caused confusion.

Q: Do you provide instructions for installing CU-VO?
A. Yes, we do. Along with your completed video, we provide simple installation instructions. Your web designer or technical liaison with HTML and or JavaScript knowledge is the best person to assist you if you are uncertain.

Q: CU-VO On-Site Process
A. The following is an outline:
Step 1: Goals & Strategy after discussing and determining your goals and budget, we can help you decide the best strategy for your CU-VO.
Step 2: Pre-production Choosing the people you will have in CU-VO and creating your scripts are the two most important elements of your CU-VO. Our team of producers and script writers’ work with you to make your CU-VO’s effective.
Step 3: Production Our staff will schedule the shoot and make sure that everything goes perfectly.
Step 4: Post-production After the shoot, we perform our post-production magic and send you demo URL links of the finished videos. You have final approval.
Step 5
: Add Videos to Your Pages With our support, your webmaster implements the videos onto your pages by copying a short line of JavaScript code and pasting it into your HTML.

Q: How do I get CU-VO on my website once the video shoot is done?
A. We send you the code for you to add to your webpage. No redesign of your website is necessary. CU-VO plays on the top of your current website. Our order sheet asks the questions needing answers so we may process your order efficiently.

Q: Does CU-VO have to host the video? Or, can I host the video on my server?
A. CU-VO is provided as a hosted service. Our servers are optimized for video streaming to ensure your videos will be played fluidly and without interruption. This approach also means that your credit union members will not have their actual business service affected by the video streaming. If your credit union members Internet service is slow, we do not attempt CU-VO for that member. If you provided the video streaming on your server to that member, you would compound the problem by adding an additional load to that member further slowing their ability to use the Internet.

Q: Are there any fees for hosting the video?
A. CU-VO packages include delivery.

HOW TO ORDER
Q: How do I start the order process?
A. We have made it as easy as it should be. You pick the package, submit your script and complete the order process. Upon receiving your order, we will visit your site to make sure that CU-VO will play on your web page. We will then give you a call to go over your specific instructions and schedule your CU-VO.

Q: How do I get started?
A. It’s as easy as filling out a Contact Us form and one of our experienced sales representatives will go over your goals and needs for the video product you are interested in.

TECHNICAL
Q: Will CU-VO play on every website?

A. No, there are a few web sites and services that just cannot accept our flash files. That is why we evaluate your website to make certain. In the unlikely event that we approve your site and it will not play as it should we will refund all of your fees and cancel your plan.

Q: Do I need to change my web design?
A. No. Our proprietary video players are transparent and overlay your current web design. Actually, we recommend starting with your current website design. As you learn more about the concept, you will see approaches to incorporate real creativity into your website.

Q: Can I put the video anywhere on my site?
A. Yes. However, if you put our videos over hyperlinks on your website, our player will not allow the covered hyperlinks to be accessed while the CU-VO is playing. Since the video player is a Flash component, it is recommended that you do NOT place it on top of any other Flash components, as some web browsers do not support this.

Q: I already have video on my site. Can I use CU-VO?
A. In most cases the answer is yes. CU-VO is shot in a completely different environment than videos, such as YouTube, that you see online. Our video production process includes HD-quality video, crisp audio, lighting optimized for the web, and other proprietary secrets to enable CU-VO to stand out. If you have video footage that you want CU-VO to consider converting for you, we may be able to. We have learned through hard experience that the quality of the raw video is critical. Defects in the raw footage are difficult (and expensive) to correct.

Q: Is CU-VO safe and secure?
A. There are a number of variations or implications to this question. First, CU-VO implements the absolute highest standards in all hosting, streaming and end delivery elements. Second, CU-VO does not have access to, nor does CU-VO collect any data concerning the transactions of your members and potential members. CU-VO does use cookies as a means of controlling the number of times a CU-VO plays for a given user which enables us to avoid playing the same CU-VO on each visit and ensures a pleasant experience for the end viewer. CU-VO does use a small set of “authentication code” in the html of your web pages. This code is warranted to be free of malware. Any documentation regarding these items is available upon request.

MISCELLANEOUS
Q: What if I want to be the CU-VO on my website?
A. CU-VO was designed specifically to encourage the use of real credit union personnel. We have partner studios in just about every city in the country. At a time that’s convenient or you, we will arrange for you to visit one of our partner studios to shoot your video.

Q. Can I regulate how often CU-VO walks out on my website?
A. Yes. CU-VO has a wide array of options concerning the location on your screen, the actions to include, the frequency of play for a given visitor, and many others. You can have your visitors view your web spokesperson videos at intervals you choose. Please contact us for details.

Q: What impact does CU-VO have on our server?
A. CU-VO has no impact. CU-VO does not run on your server. Service to your members is not affected.

Q. Do actors sign a release form?
A. All CU-VO actors sign a release form that grants CU-VO and their clients the right to use their pictures, portraits and likeness in whole or in part, including alterations (only in size of pic) modifications, derivations and composites thereof.

Q. Do I have to use one of your actors?
A. No. You can use a spokes person of your choice.

Q. Can I have special additions and deletions to the video player?
A. Yes. Please call and specify the addition or deletion you would like and we will discuss with you the possibilities.

Q. How many words should my script contain?
A. The following: 30 Seconds = Approx. 80 Words, 60 Seconds = Approx. 160 Words. We do have a template available to assist you in typing the script. Just request that at the time of order.

Q. Can I use special props and wardrobe?
A. Yes. Please contact us about the details of those elements you wish to incorporate to arrange for securing them for the video shoot.

Q. Can you help me write my script?
A. Yes. We have script writers ready to assist you.

Q. How do I know CU-VO will do a good job?
